James Aubrey Zumbro, 67

DILLWYN, Sept. 27 – James Aubrey Zumbro, 67, of Dillwyn, slipped peacefully from the loving arms of his family into the arms of his blessed Savior Thursday, September 22, 2011.
He was a man of quiet strength, purity of heart, and compassion for his fellow man. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Dillwyn where he served as former deacon and Sunday school teacher and was a retired state employee and self-employed contractor.
Mr. Zumbro was a wealthy man in terms of family and countless friends. He was loved because he loved.
Left to honor and cherish his memory is his wife of 24 years and his loyal and loving companion for the past 15 years, Betty Dunevant Zumbro; his mother, Alligene Zumbro of Baskin, LA; sisters, Sandra Lillie and family, and Beverly Rogers and family; a daughter, Brittney Zumbro and a half-brother, Wayne Keith Zumbro. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Zumbro and his father, A. J. Zumbro.
The funeral was held on Sunday, September 25, at the First Baptist Church, Dillwyn.
Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, was in charge of arrangements.
