The 51st Annual Harvest Sale will be held at the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department on October 1. The events will start at 7 a.m. with a Yard Sale; Bake Sale will also start at 7 a.m. The auction begins at 1 p.m. with dinner starting at 4 p.m. Come out and give your support to the Prospect Volunteer Firemen.

Mrs. Flora Bolt attended the United Daughters of the Confederacy meeting Sept. 14 at the Farmville/Prince Edward Community Library. After the meeting Flora visited her Aunt Ruth Southall at Brookview Lodge. She was doing very well.

On Saturday afternoon Mrs. Pat Smith visited with Mrs. Robyn Simpson at her home. Other guests were Mrs. Rosie Lapp, Mrs. Sherri Fisher and Ms. Melanie Green.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith went to Richmond on Monday for a medical appointment, did some shopping and had lunch. On Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the monthly covered dish for the small group from Faith Bible Fellowship. Attending were Mrs. Hilde Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock, Mr. and Mrs. Al Quinlan, and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Trump.

Mrs. Caroline Nowlin of Powhatan met with Mrs. Pat Smith on Tuesday for breakfast at Merk's Place.

Thursday afternoon Mrs. Flora Bolt visited Mrs. Edna Woodson at Trinity Missions. Her husband, William Woodson was visiting. Edna celebrated her 79th birthday Sept. 12.

Shoney's was the setting for the birthday celebration of Hardy Kelsey. He was able to celebrate with all of his family.

Justin Chilton a student at Christopher Newport in Newport News visited Mr. and Mrs. Robin (Jennifer Kelsey) Dickson and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Sadie) Kelsey over the weekend. While home he enjoyed some special meals with his grandparents, Carl and Sadie.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Sadie) Kelsey as well as Mrs. Peggy Kelsey, Debra Sue and Darrell Shumaker attended the Hampden-Sydney vs. Ferrum football game on Saturday. They were happy to report Hampden-Sydney won the game.

Mrs. Flora Bolt enjoyed the fifth annual Christian fellowship featuring Smokey Wilson and his gospel music at the home of Linda Troyer and Becky. A large crowd was in attendance. They served chicken stew, chili beans, ham biscuits, whoopee pies, soft drinks and coffee. It was a chilly night but people wore their heavy coats and had their blankets.

Mrs. Flora Bolt was honored on her birthday Sept. 18 with lunch at the home of her son and daughter in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Bolt. Also helping her celebrate were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas (Betty Jean) Bolt and Stacy; Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Terri) Bolt and Brandon; Mr. and Mrs. Kyle (Jennifer) Bolt and Joshua; a well as Mr. and Mrs. David (Ashley Bolt) Paquette of Meherrin; Mr. and Mrs. Chris (Melissa) Bolt; Mrs. Page Johnson; Mrs. June Warriner; Garland Woodson; Haley and Payden Murdock; and Pastor Chuck and Mrs. Vera Klotzberger. Flora received many nice and useful gifts. The cake and ice cream is always good.

Mr. and Mrs. Vince (Linda) Eikmeier of Richmond visited in the home of Flora Bolt and Mr. and Mrs. Kyle (Jennifer) Bolt and Joshua Sept. 18.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time.
