Lester I. Pollard, 90 Of Keysville Dies September 22

KEYSVILLE, Sept. 24 – Lester Irvin Pollard, 90, of Keysville, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Minnie Sizmore Pollard; three daughters, Jackie Blankenship and husband, Gerald of Mechanicsville, Gerri Davis and late husband, Patrick of Chesterfield, and Brenda Miller and husband, Richard of Franklin; a son, John Lester Pollard of Blackstone; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Eva Huddleston of Keysville; and a brother, David Russell Pollard and wife, Ruth McKay of Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Ruth William Pollard.
Mr. Pollard was in CCC Camp No. 2386, and served in the Navy in World War II as a cook.
A graveside funeral service was held Thursday (today) in the Dale Memorial Parks in Chesterfield.
Contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad or the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Building Fund.
The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of arrangements.
