CUMBERLAND, July 14 – Franklin D. Langhorne, 70, of Cumberland, departed this life on Sunday, July 10, 2011 in Richmond.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Crump Langhorne; two sons, Timothy Langhorne (Annie) and Robert Carter (Thelma); two daughters, Mary Austin and Verna Langhorne; six grandchildren, Shannethia Ruth (Lloyd), Latoya Austin, Cherita Fleming, Jamarcus Trent, Taniesha Austin and Kiarra Fleming; five great- grandchildren; seven brothers, Robert (Delores), William (Rosa), Eddie, Lewis (Linda), Reggie (Laura), Taylor (Alice) and Floyd Langhorne (Barbara); three sisters, Sadie Everette, Addie Trent (Otis) and Caroline Crump (Larry); aunt, Ada Langhorne; great-aunt, Alma Brown; two great-uncles, Warren (Pattie) and Levi Langhorne; three sisters-in- law, Catherine Langhorne, Marie Fleming and Frances Langhorne; brother-in-law, Franklin Crump; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home, Cumberland. Public viewing will be held (today) Thursday until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Friday 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Cumberland. Rev. Larry Smith, pastor, officiating. Interment in Center Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Cumberland.
