CUMBERLAND COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION

The Cumberland County Planning Commission will meet on Monday, July 18, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in Room C-8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Rezoning No. 11-03 – A rezoning proposal of approximately 57.781 acres of property currently zoned A-2, Agricultural to R-2, Rural Residential and as more fully described as follows:

Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 16, with respect to 14.54 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 16A, with respect to 0.06 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 17, with respect to 10.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 18, with respect to 1.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 19, with respect to 0.25 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20, with respect to 6.17 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20A, with respect to 1.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20B, with respect to 1.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20C, with respect to 1.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20D, with respect to 2.49 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20E, with respect to 1.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20F, with respect to 0.80 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20G, with respect to 15.22 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20H, with respect to 1.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20H, with respect to 1.00 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Section A, Parcel 20I, with respect to 0.76 total acres; Tax Map # 57, Insert A1, Section A, Parcel 1, with respect to 0.50 total acres; and Tax Map # 57, Insert A2, Section A, Parcel 16, with respect to 0.971 total acres. The affected parcels are located on the north side of Anderson Highway (Route 60) adjacent to Foster Road (Route 726) and Courthouse Circle, north of the Cumberland Courthouse. The properties are within the Courthouse Growth Area as designated by the Comprehensive Plan and are within Election District 3.

Copies of the complete text of the above rezoning proposal and associated plan are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
