There won’t be a debate taking place on Tuesday, April 29 as originally planned in Cumberland County. That’s because only one of the candidates for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor accepted the invitation, extended by the Cumberland Republican Committee. And so, things change as a result.
Now that April 29 event will be ‘An Evening with John Reid’, where the Republican candidate talks with State Sen. Luther Cifers and answers questions.
The event will still take place at Spruceberry Farm, located at 94 Cartersville Road in Cumberland. The way it’s set up now, there will be a Social Hour starting at 5:30 p.m. for which there will be a $20 admission charge. A cash bar and hors d’oeuvres will be available. RSVP is required for the Social Hour and can be made by calling 804-869-3497. There is no admission charge for attending An Evening with John Reid; however, a $5 donation is suggested. Doors for event seating will open at 6:30 p.m. and will close promptly at 7 p.m.
