Bring a sketch pad, camera, paint sets, or other art supplies as area artists gather in the gardens of Pam Wilson at her Farmville home on Saturday, June 11, at 9 a.m. The three-hour, outdoor studio session is an invitation to create art, with light refreshments and plentiful inspiration. The event is cosponsored by Central Virginia Arts and the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts. Members of either organization can attend for $5; nonmembers, $15. To learn more or to register, call the LCVA at 395-2551. Pam Wilson is a member of both the Heritage and the Longwood Garden Clubs. The Wilsons' house is an 1840s plantation home surrounded by magnolias and set on 91 acres. There is a formal herb garden behind the house, long stretches of perennial beds, and a bluestone patio with a pergola and outdoor fireplace. In addition, there are horses in the pasture. A rain date has been set for Saturday, June 18. Pictured is Joy Utzinger (at her easel) at last year's Art in the Garden workshop.
