PROSPECT, Dec. 30 – Pearl Edith Perkins Hickman, 75, of Prospect passed away Thursday evening, December 25, 2008 in Farmville. She was born December 13, 1933 in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late George Lee Perkins Sr. and Pearl Kent Jones Perkins. She was a long-time member of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and kept the church nursery. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Rose Trevilian and husband, Tom of Wake, Johnna Shular and husband, David of Prospect, Sally Edwards and husband, John also of Prospect and Heather Ehman of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Collins of Independence; brothers, Lawrence Perkins of Newport News and George Perkins Jr. of Farmville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Hickman and a son, Alvis Lowell Jones.

A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 29, at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church with interment in Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
