Betty Anderson, 94

DANVILLE, Jan. 1 – Betty Moore Varner Anderson, after living an enriched (good) life for 94 years, Betty departed her earthly life on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 to begin her eternal life with her Lord and those loved ones who have gone before her.

Born January 14, 1914 to Robert Scott Moore Sr. and Ad-die Lee Womack Moore, she lived part of her life as one of twelve children in the Farmville area and the last 64 years in Danville, where she worked in the retail business, retiring as assistant manager of Merit Shoes.

She leaves behind James William Anderson, husband of the home and three children and their spouses, Joseph Taylor Varner and wife, Patricia, Nancy Hall Wright and husband, the Reverend Jeffrey Wright, and John Bruce Hall Jr. and wife, Betty; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Beulah Banks.

She is predeceased by husbands Herman Varner, John Bruce Hall Sr., and daughter Allie Varner Acree, one grand-child and 10 siblings.

A celebration of her life will be held by the Reverned Jeffrey Wright, the Reverend Dr. Adam Woods and the Reverend Dr. Gerald Robinson at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, North Main Street on Friday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night (tonight) from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
