It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Sharon Kaye Stevens, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who passed away on Jan. 22, at the age of 66.
Born on May 11, 1958 in Russell County. Sharon was the daughter of Sophie Wilson and Billy Sunday Honaker of Honaker. She dedicated her life to her family embodying love, kindness and resilience in every aspect of her life. A devoted mother Sharon was known for her unwavering support and compassion. She was a source of strength to everyone around her.
Sharon had a passion for her family, quilting and loved the mountains. She took great pride in her grandchildren and her legacy will continue through the lives of her children, grandchildren and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her children, Michael Stevens and wife, Kelly, of Cartersville, Jennifer Amos and husband, Bobby, of Farmville, and Bryan Stevens and wife, Hannah, of Cumberland; grandchildren, Hunter Stevens, Jordan Stevens, Lily Bass and husband Noah, DJ Amos, Courtney Amos, Johnna Stevens, Sophie Stevens, Heather Stevens, Sammy Amos, Evelyn Stevens and June Stevens; great granddaughter, Blakelynn Amos-Stratton; brothers, Michael Honaker and WC Crabtree and sister, Robin Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Big John Stevens; her parents, Billy Honaker and Sophie Wilson; her grandson, Austin Saunders; brothers, Jim Crabtree, Lynn Crabtree, Ralph Honaker, Henry Honaker, Larry Jean Honaker, Bill Allen Honaker, Glenn David Honaker, Harlas Honaker, Bill June Honaker and sisters, Margie Owens, Cathy Byrd and Louella Honaker.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m., in Passion Community Church.
Her warmth, love, and infectious spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
