JANUARY 6 – Janie B. McHenry, wife of the late E. E. McHenry, died Thursday, December 25, 2008. She was a member of Wootens Chapel United Methodist Church in New Market, TN.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Glenn A., Ronald W., and Gary D. McHenry.
Mrs. McHenry is survived by two sons, Charles H. and Phillip W. McHenry, both of Cumberland; grandchildren, Gary L. McHenry, Frances D. McHenry, and Marsh Moore of Dillwyn, Gwendolyn J. McHenry Sapp of Richmond, Janet P. McHenry of Dillwyn, Ruben D. McHenry of Cumberland, Christopher S. McHenry of Amelia, and Ernest A. McHenry and Timothy W. McHenry both of Cumberland; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Dannielle Marsh, Timothy Wesley Marsh, and Julia Gabrielle Moore all of Dillwyn, Ryan Todd Sapp and Corey Allen Sapp of Richmond, and Dakota Timberlake of Cumberland; two nieces, Betty Rose Lowery Mantooth and Doris Fay Lowery Turner both of New Market, TN; two nephews, Ralph G. Lowery Jr. and Oliver L. Lowery and their children all of New Market, TN; and a host of cousins and relatives in Tennessee and other states.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 27, in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home with interment in the Grove Cemetery, Cumberland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department or the Cumberland Volunteer Res-cue Squad, Cumberland.
The Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, served the family.
