How does Farmville Police handle traffic cases? What goes into investigations and forensics? Those are some of the questions department officials will answer at the 10th edition of the Citizens Police Academy, which will start March 6.

The project, which is open for applications now, will consist of nine sessions on Thursday nights, starting March 6 and running through May 1. The classes will start at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. each night.

The goal of the academy is to provide citizens with general knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the Farmville Police Department and facilitate conversations with the goal of not only informing our community on the functions in place to keep them safe and secure, but to also enhance our efforts through hearing from those in the class matters of public safety important to them.
