Editor, The Herald:
This past week we attended the most wonderful musical we have ever seen at Nottoway Middle School, performed by young amateurs. The musical was Andrew Lloyd Webber's “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” straight from the book of Genesis. It was directed by Christy Aviles, and the musical director was Alice Allman. Savannah Thomas (daughter of Jeff Thomas, who works at the Farmville Herald) had the lead role as narrator, and sang every line so perfectly beautiful. What talent was exhibited by all, including Joseph, who didn't miss a beat and sang a lovely duet with the narrator at the end. The set and scenes were out of this world. All who worked on the musical were volunteers.
We are so thrilled there are some in our schools who feel good music is important in our children's lives. Not only did they sound great, they had fun! The singing and dancing were unbelievable.
Kudos to Nottoway for allowing the great musical performance.
