Elsie S. Wilson, 94, passed away peacefully on Oct 27, in Farmville. She was born on Sept. 1, 1930 at home in Welcome, Maryland to Etta Wenk Scott and Eugene Longsworth Scott Sr. Those preceding her in death were her husband, James B. Wilson Jr., her father, her mother, her brother, Eugene L. Scott Jr. and a son-in-law, Howard Meredith Campbell.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Linda Wilson Campbell and Jean Ann Stiegelmeyer; her three grandchildren and their partners, Jared Stiegelmeyer (April), Stacy Collins (Adam) and Meredith Hamlette (Nik) and four beautiful great grandchildren, Charlotte, Grant, Cody and Skylar.

Elsie was a strong, determined and faithful lady that loved her family, friends and church. She loved to play tennis, drive her 32’ RV with her sister-in-law, Helen Ann Scott, and travel.

A family visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., at Shorter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502 on Monday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
