He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one daughter, Tammy Jane Cox Adkins.

After graduating from Prince Edward Academy in 1968, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. After returning home from the Navy, he began his career as a master plumber with Harris Heating and Plumbing. He worked hard for 34 years providing for his family.

He had many passions outside of work as well. He was an outdoorsman in every sense of the word. He had a love for hunting and had many trophies to prove it including deer, turkey, bobcat, and even a ram to name a few. He got his love for fishing from his Daddy and you could often find him over at Sandy River Reservoir on the water in his jon boat or in the parking lot telling his fishing stories. He caught a many largemouth bass, crappie, catfish and bream and loved to cook them up. He loved Sunday dinners at his Momma’s house where she would cook his favorite homemade dishes. He shot competition archery and also trained and mentored his family in the sport. He coached his children’s P.E.F.Y.A. youth league baseball and softball teams. He also umpired many games for the P.E.F.Y.A. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and football on TV. You could also find him picking his guitar and singing to classic country or bluegrass music to anyone who would listen. He spent several years as the lead rhythm guitar picker for the Stony Knoll Bluegrass Band. He loved picking with anyone who would join in at the many bluegrass festivals and parties that he attended with the love of his life Veronica “Vickie” Blevins and where he met all of his many bluegrass buddies.

He definitely lived a great life and there are a million stories out there about Ol’ Kenny Cox. May he rest in heavenly peace…
