Road work around the region week of Oct. 16, 2024

The Virginia Department of Transportation will have work crews out throughout the region this week. They’ll be doing bridge and guardrail maintenance, brush, tree and limb cutting, pothole and surface work, as well as surface treatment/paving operations, work orders, mowing, boom axing, drainage repairs/ work and roadside cleanup. Work at specific locations:
BUCKINGHAM COUNTY:
• Route 60 (E James Anderson Hwy) in the vicinity of Route 629 (Rosney Rd) – Bridge maintenance project over Whispering Creek. Change in traffic pattern with traffic being maintained with temporary traffic signals. There is an 11 foot width restriction in place until completion. Use caution. Estimated completion November 18, 2024.
• Route 15 (N James Madison Highway) from Dillwyn Town limits to Route 622 (Trents Mill Rd.) – Safety improvements. Shoulder widening, rumble strips, and guardrail replacement. Lane closures expected. Use caution. Estimated completion December 2024.
