One person is in custody, linked to Glenmore Road shooting

One person is injured and a person of interest is in custody today, after a shooting that took place Saturday, Oct. 12 in Buckingham County.
According to information from the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in at about 6:20 p.m., claiming that there had been a shooting in the 4000 block of Glenmore Road. Buckingham deputies responded to the scene and found a 36-year-old man in front of the house, suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies and the Buckingham County Department of Emergency Services personnel immediately administered first aid. The gunshot victim was stabilized and taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, after an investigation, deputies arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the case.
Buckingham Sheriff William Kidd said the case is still under investigation. He asked anyone with any information to contact the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office at (434)969-1772 and speak to First Sergeant Kincheloe. He also thanked the other agencies that have helped with the case, including the Virginia State Police and Buckingham County Department of Emergency Services.
