Jack and Roseanne Burger, of Meherrin, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Rose Burger, to Adam Walker Southall, son of Janett Y. Southall, of Farmville, and Edward K. Southall, of Jetersville.

Ms. Burger is employed at Wachovia Bank in Farmville. She is the granddaughter of John Karakaris and the late Florence M. Karakaris, of Port Richey, FL, and Sheila Vanarsdale, of Jackson, NJ.

Mr. Southall is employed by Buckingham Branch Railroad. He is the grandson of Mrs. Celia C. Young and the late H. Walker Young, of Farmville, William W. Southall, of Jetersville, and Dr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Coffman, of Richmond.

A September wedding is planned.
