Lindbergh Hardiman, 97 of Dillwyn, passed Sept. 30, at his home, surrounded by his family. Lindbergh was born on Aug.16, 1927 in his present home, where he has lived his entire life. He was a farmer who loved his tractors and cows.

He married Evelyn on Aug. 16, 1947, they had just celebrated their 77th anniversary.

Lindbergh is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Evelyn Whaley Hardiman; three wonderful daughters, Linda H. Meador, Sandra H. Witt (Jerry) and Della H. Wickizer; three grandchildren, Shannon Meador, Mandy Wickizer and Aaron Wickizer (Heather); three great-grandchildren, Austin Wickizer, Wyatt Wickizer, and Sophie Gray.; sister-in-law, Sue Mundy (Peter), and Irvin Poe, a special family friend who has been of tremendous help and support to the family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther W. and Mary Susie Hardiman; all of his siblings and son-in-law, Tony Wickizer.

Lindbergh was a lifelong member of Cedar Baptist Church, a deacon and chairman for many years. He loved and was loved by his church family.

Special thanks to the Buckingham County Rescue Squad and to his home health nurse, Beth Caruso.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m., at Cedar Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service. beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Baptist Church Building Fund.
