I have never been the type of citizen to bite my tongue, nor give idle compliments or hold back from constructive insults.

First, the thought that Dr. Johnson, did anything that her job description and comparable salary called for is a joke. My step granddaughter’s Kindergarten year, when school is just starting and the leader of the schools should be here, she took that time to schedule hip or knee surgery.

Second, PECPS has struggled with becoming fully accredited, and nothing has changed

Third, at a recent Board of Supervisors meeting, Dr. Johnson discussed pupil truancy, even a 20% in our elementary school, yet had no idea of what to do

Fourth, our children or at least 85% are having problems with a speech barrier and in some a social barrier which lies between educators and pupils as well as parents.

The fact is this is a move which may be too little too late. The facts are that the whole Administrative Branch of the Schools need to be changed. If the Prince Edward County School System is to improve for the better, for our children and our community; it has to start producing.

It must produce a constant student body with the educational skills to be able to live at least a basic family life.

It has to produce a constant student body that not only can read, write, do arithmetic and science but also basic reasoning of what is expected in society and life skills.

The next superintendent we get must be a repairer with a proven background for turning around educational systems, and ensuring that our children are excelling at least at a basic level, and are encouraged and given the tools to excel at higher levels as well.

We, the taxpayers and citizens of this County, have been taxed to raise $35 million for a new and up to date school. Shouldn’t the education and the administrative staff be just as good and up to date?.
