When my wife and I invited two other couples to come to Farmville to join us for dinner and the theater, I looked forward to an evening of food, family, and entertainment. I guess 2 out of 3 isn’t bad.
The presentation “5 Women Wearing the Same Dress” was not what I expected. I had heard that there was some adult humor and some topics that might be considered as controversial, and I was ok with that to some extent…my goodness, that’s life. I was embarrassed however for having invited guests to be exposed to the excessive use of the “F” word throughout the play. It seems to me that the language used was not appropriate for a rural community theater setting, and I would hope that future presentations would be more carefully vetted before exposing the public to such vulgarity.
On the plus side, I would say the acting and staging was well done, and I am open to attending future plays. I will have to screen them more carefully. Thank you for allowing me to “vent” a bit.
