FEBRUARY 3 – On Wednesday, February 2, 2011, France W. Harris, 88, stepped off into the hereafter. A resident of Farmville, he was preceded in death by his son, John M. Harris, and a grandson, G.A. Shumaker III.

He is survived by his children, Donna H. Stinson, Janice S. Harris, and Jerry W. Harris; grandchildren, Ashley Harris, Lindsey Hopkins, Johnny Stinson and Chris Shumaker; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gladys Morris, Roxie Nester, Daisy Shumaker, Edna Coleman, and Hobert Harris.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, Feb. 4, at Dunkum Funeral Home, 7 to 9 p.m.

The family request memorials be given to the Hospice of Virginia or the Heart Association.
