It's sweets for the sweet and art for the heart at the LCVA's annual Valentine Time Workshop, held this year on Saturday, February 5. From making cards and flowers to designing mailboxes and stamps, the workshop will delight both the participants and the recipients of the handiwork – parents, grandparents, neighbors, teachers, and others. Held at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts in downtown Farmville from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, the free family workshop is open to all. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The workshop will offer a variety of Valentine-themed activities, including both modern and classic craft projects. Come make Victorian-inspired cards, create foam flowers, or design a valentine mailbox. All supplies will be provided free of charge, and skilled helpers will be on hand to assist. Complimentary refreshments will also be available.

The LCVA is located at 129 North Main Street in Farmville. In preparation for our biennial gala art auction, galleries are closed for regular visitation until February 21. However the arts center is open for special events, and the offices are open 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For additional information on this or other programs, call 434-395-2206.
