CUMBERLAND, Jan. 27 – Sceamer Gertrude West Rose, 84, of Cumberland departed this life at her residence on Saturday, January 22, 2011.

She is survived by five daughters, Vera Howard (Herb), Alice Jefferson (Carl), Shirley Lipscomb (Ray), Ann Carter (Michael) and Cordell Wright (Burton); nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elder Olander Fleming (Minerva); nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Her remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home where public viewing will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends during the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Cumberland. The Rev. Dr. Howard C. Cooper Sr., pastor, will be officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
