The Prospect Historical Society will hold its February meeting on Tuesday Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Peggy) Kelsey celebrated their 56th anniversary on Sunday at the Woodlands. They were surrounded by children, grandchildren, friends, red roses and balloons. Congratulations!

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Nancy) Dickerson will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Jan. 28. Congratulations!

Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher attended the Pancake Supper in Rice on Sunday night for the Rice Volunteer Fire Department.

The Stockton family, Richard, Margaret, Lon, Mary Jo, and Sean, were among the many attending the “Celebrity Chef Cook Off” on Thursday night. The food was delicious.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noblin entertained her sister, Shirley Richardson with a birthday dinner on Saturday night. Others attending were Shirley's husband Henry and friends Mr. and Mrs. David (LeAnn) Emert.

Mrs. Shirley Fulcher attended the meeting of the “Special Blessings” of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church on Monday. They are making Valentine pillows for some of the residents of the Woodlands. They enjoyed lunch and fellowship together.

Mrs. Flora Bolt visited Mrs. Edna Woodson on Thursday and then on Monday Mrs. Woodson's husband, William was also visiting. She is doing very well at this time.

Mr. and Mrs. John (Shirley) Fulcher attended the “Dessert Party” at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday. The members of the church are raising money to help five of their young ladies with their expenses for a Mission trip in July.

Mrs. Flora Bolt was a guest for lunch on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Bolt. Also, visiting were their children Jennifer Page Bolt, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris (Melissa) Bolt. Later in the afternoon Mrs. Bolt visited Mrs. Ruth Southall, Wilfred Hedrick and John Varner at the Woodlands. They all seemed to be doing ok.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time. Special prayers are needed for Ray Kelsey, Lee Coleman, and Bobbie Leatherwood.

Friends and neighbors are expressing their sincere sympathy to the family of John Ray Wilkerson.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will fill the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Kemper Beasley III will fill the pulpit on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
