Cumberland’s Kameron Brown competes in 3k race

Kameron Brown, a rising senior at Cumberland High, got out of his comfort zone to compete in the boys 17-18 3000 meter race earlier this week. He went to North Carolina A & T University in Greensboro, North Carolina on Sunday, July 28 to take part.
Kameron, competing under the Sixty West Jets AAU track club located in Cumberland, is a multi-sport athlete. He is the school’s starting quarterback in football, a forward in basketball, and indoor/ outdoor track and field pole vaulter, long & triple jumper, high jumper and hurdler. Supported by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Harris, Kameron challenged himself to finish with a 5th place All-American podium position. Going against the nations top age group contingent from Puerto Rico and main states, he achieved his goal.
