JANUARY 13 – Kaethe Erna Charlotte Heinemann Slebodnik passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Farmville. She was the widow of John A. Slebodnik and was also preceded in death by her former husband Wilhelm Heinemann. She was born January 29, 1912 in Stettin, Germany.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Hans Martens of Cumberland; two grandsons, Peter and Edward Martens and their wives Jenny and Lisa Martens; and four great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jordan, Stephanie and Jonathan Martens.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmville, with interment to follow in Old Grove Cemetery, Cumberland.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1301 Milnwood Rd., Farmville, VA 23901.
