Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is celebrated every year, April 14 – 20, to honor and appreciate the valuable contributions of medical laboratory professionals, phlebotomists and pathologists in health care and patient advocacy. Centra Southside Community Hospital officials note, “These professionals work diligently behind the scenes to ensure accurate diagnoses, monitor patient health and provide essential information for treatment plans. From conducting intricate tests to drawing blood with precision and care, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Phlebotomists exhibit excellence in their craft, significantly impacting the lives of countless individuals every day.” Pictured are Centra lab professionals Chrisblaine Sanchez, Christela Capitan, Sarah Riley, Lab Supervisor Chryzel Bermejo, Tommy Trevilian, Brianna Fears, Ruby Johnson, Roxanne Catron, Daisy Padilla, Qaevon Rawlings, Bernadette Francis-Miles and Lab Director Brenda Rodriguez.
