Another season of Buddy Ball ended on Saturday, April 27 in Farmville. This time around, there were about 20 meetings, including events like Buddy Kickball, Buddy Basketball and Buddy Baseball for children with disabilities. The program, which is run by Longwood University professor Dr. Matt Lucas, has been in operation for 15 years. During meetings, players learn and practice basic skills for each sport, while also participating in modified games. Longwood students volunteered and assisted in running the programs during Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
