CULLEN, December 27 – Berlie Franklin Cobb, 92, of Cullen, passed away at his home Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was born on April 27, 1920 in Prince Edward to the late John B. and Virginia Berkley Cobb. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. After the War, he came home to the farm. He was a hard working dairy farmer and loved people and life.
Mr. Cobb was married to his love, Betty Lou and raised five children. He was a trustee and deacon of Spring Creek Baptist Church and was well known in his community.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou; five daughters, Sharon Coleman (Tony) of Richmond, Jean Cobb of Emporia, Susan Marshall (David) of Forest, Christy O'Conner (Joe) of Ball Ground, GA and Tammy Arsenault (John) of Fredericksburg; seven grandchildren, Joey Coleman (Karen) of Richmond, Jeremiah Coleman (Dorine) of Portland, OR, Josh Coleman of Los Angeles, CA, Alex Coleman, of Richmond, Grant Marshall (Brittany) of Jacksonville, FL, Caitlin Gerber (Ryan) of Ontario, Canada and Ross Marshall of Forest; five great-grandchildren; brother, David B. Cobb of Cullen and sister, Phyllis Atkins (Jack) of Charlotte Court House. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
A funeral service was held Sunday, December 23 at Spring Creek Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
