Janet Rettstatt Fountain, 82 of Farmville, passed away on Friday, March 22. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethan Allen and Edna Cleo Rettstatt. 

Janet is survived by her children, Edward Allen Fountain (Karen) and Teresa Sandlin (Ron); grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson (Chris) and Katie Hobbs (Carlton); her sister, Glenda Gibson (Earnest), a special niece, Diane Warren; and many other nieces and nephews. 

Janet loved puzzles, games and crime shows on TV. After a career in retail management, she pursued her passion for cooking by opening Grandma’s Kitchen in Keysville. Janet found immense joy in sharing homemade dishes, especially during Christmas, when she’d lovingly gift her cookies to friends and family. Her heart was also filled with affection for her beloved cats: Baby, Dolly, and Victor. Janet will be missed by all who knew her.
