Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church invites you to their Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Sean Stockton celebrated his 10th birthday on Dec. 17 at Merk's Place. Helping Sean celebrate were his parents, Lon and Mary Jo Stockton, his grandparents, Richard and Margaret Stockton, and friends: Christy Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Meinhard and daughter Lily.

The Christmas program at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church was held Dec. 16 under the direction of Mrs. Shirley Rob-ertson. It was a lovely program of scripture reading and hymns with different members doing the readings and Dale Bolt at the piano. Refreshments were served in the fellowship hall which had been beautifully decorated for Christmas. Each person took home a bag of goodies. This is a tradition that was started many years ago.

Mrs. Betty Meadows visited with Mrs. Eloise Tucker at Brookview on Friday.

On Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the monthly covered dish for the small group from Faith Bible Fellow-ship. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Eric Fehr, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock, Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger, Mr. and Mrs. Al Quinlan and Mrs. Hilda Watson.

The Senior Adult class of Glenn Memorial Baptist church at Prospect held their Christmas lunch at Country Cookin' on Sun-day.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton enjoyed the Roy Clark concert on Saturday afternoon courtesy of their son and his family, Lon, Mary Jo and Sean.

Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher attended the Christmas Party given by Mr. and Mrs. John VanCleave at their home known as the Creek House.

The Prospect Happy Hats enjoyed their December outing at the home of the hostess, E. Susan Campbell; helping Susan was her sister Celia Dunkley. A very delicious Brunch was enjoyed by the Happy Hats: Hilda Allen, Lois Johnson, Elfrieda Kerns, Jeannette Tarlton, Ann Norton, Edwina Covington, Pat Smith, Joyce Floyd, Betty Meadows, Margaret Stockton and Elsie Wil-son. Susan's home was beautifully decorated for Christmas, which put everyone in the mood for Christmas. A very good time was had by all.

Mrs. Betty Jean Bolt Wade Alderman, 82 died on Dec. 17. She was a sister of Hasten Bolt. Mrs. Flora Bolt, Douglas Bolt and Dale Bolt traveled to Floyd for Family Night on Tuesday night at the Mabry Funeral Home.

Neighbors, family and friends are praying for a speedy recovery for those that are sick at this time; Howard Campbell and Bobbie Leatherwood.

Friends and neighbors are extending their sincere sympathy to the families of Mrs. Irene Spurlock and Mrs. Betty Jean Bolt Wade Alderman.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sun-day; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simp-son Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
