Beulah Davis Cox “Granny”, 97 of Farmville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 1.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1926 in Charlotte County. She was the daughter of the late Clifford George “Cleophus” Davis and Lelia Kersey Davis.
She is survived by her only child, a son, Kenneth Walter Cox Sr. and Veronica of Rice; five grandchildren, Kenneth Cox Jr. (Ashley) , Roger Blevins (Lisa), Angie Dudley (Gary), Beverly Cox and Darrell Cox; 15 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Junior, Clarence, John and Harry Davis; three sisters, Ollie Davis, Ruby Davis Tucker and Mary Davis Guthrie; and a granddaughter, Tammy Jane Cox Adkins.
Beulah was a loving Mother and Granny. She loves spending time with family and every Sunday she cooked and gathered everyone for Sunday dinners. She had a passion for cooking and always made the most delicious dishes and desserts. She was known for her fresh apple cake as well as her “friendship” cake. She enjoyed sewing and made clothing and blankets, among other creations.
She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Farmville, where her strong love and devotion for the Lord led her to her Heavenly home. She was a retired employee of Craddock Terry Shoe Factory.
Family gathered and received friends on March 5 at 10 a.m., at Shorter Funeral Home in Farmville. Services followed at 11 am. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery in Farmville. Shorter Funeral Home served the family. shorterfuneralhome.com.
