DECEMBER 18 – Irene Covington Spurlock, 92, of Brookview Lodge in Farmville, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012. She was born on April 26, 1920 in Virginia, to the late Eunice Phillips Covington and Herbert Whitt Covington. She was married to the late C. Lewis Spurlock Jr.

Mrs. Spurlock was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church, a life member of United Methodist Women and a charter member of Farmville Fire Department Auxiliary. She was also a member of Farmville Rebekah Lodge #87, Women of the Moose, V.F.W. Auxiliary and former member of Milnwood Home Demonstration Club.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Inez C. Twarzydlo of Richeyville, PA, Herbert W. Covington and Harold P. Covington of Farmville.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 22, at the Farmville United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.
