Robbery Suspect Sought

FARMVILLE – The Farmville Police Department is searching for a female who robbed a woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Monday evening, December 10, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
A police department press release states, “a light-skinned black female wearing a yellow sweatshirt approached a woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot as she was putting her child into the vehicle. The suspect stuck an object into the victim's side and demanded her wallet. The suspect then fled on foot and was last seen running north on South Main Street toward Milnwood Road.”
Police say a K-9 from the Department of Corrections was dispatched to the scene and was able to track the suspect to a parking lot on Milnwood Road. Police continued searching along Milnwood Road where they were able to recover some of the victim's personal belongings.
The suspect is described in the police press release as “a heavy-set black female, five feet eight inches to five feet 10 inches tall and 220-225 pounds. She wore a yellow sweatshirt and a baseball-style cap. The suspect appears to have a very close style hair cut.”
