FARMVILLE – The Farmville Police Department announced late Thursday morning it is looking for a missing man who has a medical condition that requires medication.

William Henry Hairston, 70, was last seen leaving his home in the 1100 block of South Main Street at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, a police department press release states, “in his maroon 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix with Virginia Handicap license plate 327714.”

Police say Hairston was headed to CVS, located just across the street from his residence, to get a pack of cigarettes.

“Hairston has not been seen since,” the police press release states.

Police describe Hairston as a black male, five feet 11 inches, weighing 240 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Hairston was said to be wearing a black leather jacket and a wide-rim black hat.

“Hairston is on medication for Dementia and Alzheimer's,” police say, adding, “on a previous occasion Hairston was reported missing he was found in Hanover County not aware of where he was.

“His family,” the police press release continues, “believes he may be headed to Maryland to visit relatives.”
