The week of Nov. 13-17 Piedmont Regional Jail hosted a 40-hour training program “The Creed Project” (Climate Resilient Energy Employment for the Disadvantage). 

The CREED Project was created by a nonprofit organization called FLIPP Inc. During the training the offenders learned skills on how to install and operation of solar panels. Those offenders who were successful in passing the exam, will receive his/her certificate in solar installation. Piedmont Regional Jail honored those who participated by hosting a Ceremony of Completion. Keynote speakers for the ceremony were Prince Edward County Commonwealth Attorney, The Honorable Megan Clark and LOC Family Services founder, Shelly Mays-Couch. Piedmont Regional Jail will continue to provide vocational programs and educational classes to assist offenders in a successful transition back into the community while aiding offenders’ skills in becoming more employable while reducing the rate of recidivism rate.
