It’s now a bit easier to access data about land parcels in Prince Edward County. The county’s geographic information system (GIS) material is now available online. The County’s mapping data was updated and digitized and a web application added by The Timmons Group, an engineering and consulting firm based out of Richmond. Timmons is also hosting the GIS site for Prince Edward.
The GIS site provides access to geographic and tax record information currently maintained by Prince Edward for individual parcels of property. All the data is a matter of public record.
“By having parcel information online, citizens may easily retrieve all of the information that we currently have,” said Prince Edward County Administrator Doug Stanley. “This system will make it more convenient for citizens while saving staff time and resources. Individuals can access information regarding their property or other properties in the County including property and improvement value, zoning, school districts, floodplains, etc.”
Stanley also noted that information is available by tax map number or address. Individuals can access the site and information at https://princeedwardcountygis.timmons.com/. For questions on the project or how to access the data contact Robert Love, Director of Planning and Community Development, at rlove@co.prince-edward.va.us. The County also asks that citizens please use this email address to forward any errors and discrepancies that are identified.
