Betty Farley Boggs, 84 of Boca Raton, Florida, died peacefully on Nov. 15, surrounded by the love of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Mildred Branch Agee and Claudius Blanton Farley; sister, Peggy Hicks; brother-in-law, Ralph Boggs; sister-in-law, Betty Moyer Boggs and her beloved husband of 59 years Karl Hardman Boggs Jr. 

She is survived by her daughters: Claudia Bridges (Robbie) of Maidens, Karla Otten (Eric) of Palm Desert, California and Tammy Hands (Thom) of Boca Raton, Florida; six grandchildren: Bobby Bridges (Jerikah), Tyler Hunt (Watkins), Megan Shreaves (Hunter), Mathew Otten, Elle Otten and Sam Hands; four great-grandchildren: Ellie Bridges, Joanie Bridges, Watkins Hunt and Hardy Hunt; brother-in-law Howard Hicks of Richmond; brother and sister-in-law John and Louise Boggs of Goochland; brother-in-law Chuck Boggs and Patti of Virginia Beach; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who loved her deeply and that she thought of as extended family.

Betty was born on Nov. 27, 1938, in Richmond. She graduated from John Marshall High School Class of 1957. She had many different occupations from working in the accounting department at Southern States, to being an Avon Lady for many years winning numerous presidential awards for top performance. She and her late husband Karl owned and operated The Boggs Christmas Tree Farm for over 20 years in Cartersville. Most importantly and above all else, she spent her life caring for others.

She was known by many names: “Betty”, “Farley”, “Mom” and, the best, was “BeBe”. Her grandchildren nicknamed her BeBe years ago and that was her favorite because they were her heart; she called them “BeBe’s Babies”. She was the sweetest daughter (the apple of her daddy’s eye, and her mother’s angel), the best sister, the caring aunt, the truest friend, devoted wife and loving mother of her three girls, the proudest grandmother and the doting great-grandmother. She cherished her family and taking care of them was her life’s passion. She was a faithful, fun-loving, small-town, country girl with a heart of gold and had the best southern accent. She never knew a stranger and loved sharing stories about her family and friends to anyone who would listen, oftentimes without a choice. She always felt the need to help others. She’d give you the shirt off her back and was constantly giving items that she thought were just the right thing for you whether you wanted them or not. She had a hobby of going to thrift stores, and craft shows and boy could she spot a yard sale sign from a mile away. She instilled family tradition, taught kindness and love, had a passion for music, always playing the piano, the harmonica and even taught herself how to play the guitar. We will never forget the smell of her delicious southern cookin’ for every family gathering and the taste of her famous cream puffs when you were sick.

She was truly beautiful, inside and out, and spread pure love, joy and goodness to everyone who was lucky enough to have ever known her. She was a remarkable woman who impacted others in a priceless, unequivocal way and will be deeply missed by everyone. Her wishes were to have her ashes spread in special places by each of her daughters with their families. She would want you to smile at a life well lived, remember and share stories of all the wonderful memories made together with her, spend time with the ones you love, cherish all the little moments in life, do random acts of kindness in her honor, and know she is in all of our hearts forever.
