PE's Fitzgerald Named Southside District Offensive Player of the Year

Despite playing on a team that went winless in the district, Prince Edward County High School senior receiver Marquis Fitzgerald was named the Offensive Player of the Year by the district's football coaches in recent voting.
Often drawing double-teams from opposing defenses, Fitzgerald managed to put up impressive numbers during the year.
Fitzgerald, who was named to the second team at defensive back, was the lone PE player to be named to the first team. He was joined on the second team by Cleon Watkins (quarterback), Isaiah Davis (defensive line), Damien Mickey (defensive line) and Davon Adams (defensive back).
DeAndre Evans and Bobby Burke garnered honorable mention recognition.
Brunswick's Christopher Turner was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and Brunswick coach Harold Williams was named the league's Coach of the Year.
