Ceremony Held

Rebecca Carrion, formerly of Farmville, and James Thomas Childress Jr. of House, MS, happily announce their marriage on November 17 on a beautiful southern fall afternoon in Mississippi. The couple wed on the Childress family farm in House, MS, along with their parents, siblings and friends.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore an ivory Galina lace beaded gown with a trumpet skirt and sweep train. A purple charmeuse sash was added for color.

Lauren Rollins, niece of the bride, of Nokesville, served as maid of honor, and the best man was Jerry Boos, of Enterprise, MS.

Vintage doors, accented by metal buckets with burlap curtains and initials of the bride and groom in moss, and purple and orange flowers and cotton stalks added to the rustic backdrop. The drive was lined with hay bales and signs hand painted by the bride. Lanterns and mums added to the fall decor.

Guests blew bubbles at the end of the ceremony and a bluegrass band sang “When You Say Nothing at All” by Alison Krauss as the bride walked out with her father.” Foggy Mountain Breakdown” was played after the couple was announced man and wife,

The reception was also held on the farm with an Alabama BBQ pitmaster smoking beef brisket, pulled pork, and chicken quarters. The bride prepared a dessert table with banana pudding, bourbon brownies, cheesecake bites, cupcakes, caramel apples, and assorted homemade pies. Wedding favors were Whoopie pies made by the bride. Southern Grass from Brandon, MS, provided the music, and a DJ played the couple's first dance, “At Last,” by Etta James.

The groom's cake, done in camo with deer antler topping, read “The Hunt is Over.”

The couple will continue to work and reside near Meridian, MS.
