Lillian Layne Hanmer, 91

KEYSVILLE, October 30 – Lillian Layne Hanmer, 91, of Keysville, died on Friday, October 26, 2012. She was born in Cullen on August 8, 1921, the daughter of Paul and Estelle Layne.
She was an active member of the Keysville United Methodist Church and many civic organizations. She enjoyed golf, dancing, tennis, bridge, traveling and was an avid Virginia Tech fan.
Ms. Hanmer is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Bill Schmidt of Rogers, AR and Peggy and Steve Richards of Maysville, KY; daughter-in-law, Betsy Hanmer of Keysville; two grandchildren, Drew H. Gibson and Kate L. Price; and sister, Anne Dowdy. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Hanmer, son, James H. Hanmer Jr. and sister, Edythe Lenchert.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 30 in the Keysville United Methodist Church with interment in Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery, Keysville.

The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of arrangements.
