Margaret Estella Whorley, 60

OCTOBER 25 – Margaret Estella Whorley, 60, of Farmville, lost her two-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. She leaves behind the lessons she taught all of those close to her in her loving way, and an appreciation for what matters most in life.

Mrs. Whorley is survived by, her pride and joy, her son, John Michael Whorley and her mother, Anna Jane Vernon, both of Buckingham County; four sisters, Lilly Powell, Connie King, Tammy Vernon and Teresa Chilcote and three brothers, Robert, James, and Jerry Vernon, all of Buckingham. She is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Vernon.

A celebration of her life will be held at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Some things are made of gold, but nothing can compare to people who are made of gold. Ms. Whorley was truly made of gold and will be greatly missed.
