William “Billy” Henderson Johnson passed away on Wednesday, May 24, at the age of 73. He was born on Oct. 5, 1949 in Farmville, the son of Nelson P. Johnson and Allie B. Johnson.
Billy graduated from Prince Edward Academy in 1968, where he was a captain of the football team and played the trumpet in the band. After his military service he returned to Farmville, where he reunited and married the love of his life, the late Pamela W. Johnson. Many knew Billy from the post office, where he worked for over 30 years. After retiring, he spent most of his time with family and friends enjoying life. He would often be found at Charley’s Waterfront Cafe, singing Karaoke at Captain C’s and playing golf. He will be greatly missed.
