Mollie Davis

DILLWYN, July 29 – Mollie Winston Pearson Davis, born on October 11, 1927, passed away in her home, in Dillwyn, on Sunday, July 27, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Edna H. Pearson and Everet Pearson.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ivan P. Davis Sr. She is the mother of Ivan “Chip” P. Davis Jr., Mary Winston Davis Wise and Reid Pearson Davis (deceased). She was also survived by a daughter-in-law, Deborah Davis and a son-in-law, Ed Wise, and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Buckingham Central High School, Richmond Polytechnic Institute and the Stuart Circle Hospital School of Nursing, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. Upon graduation from college she worked for the Veterans Administration of McGuire's Hospital in Richmond.

Mrs. Davis was an active member in many civic organizations and a successful business woman for over 40 years. She was a devoted lifelong member of White Hall United Methodist Church in Dillwyn.

Visitation will be Tuesday (tonight) at Dunkum Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at White Hall United Methodist Church of Dillwyn on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with interment at the Davis Family Cemetery.
