PUBLIC HEARING

The Cumberland County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in room C-8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct public hearings pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204 to consider the following items and taking actions in furtherance thereof:
BZA 12-02: Terry McAbee requests a variance from the requirements of Section 74-135 of the Cumberland County Zoning Ordinance regarding the limit of one dwelling per two acres with respect to approximately 2.501 acres of Tax Map 90, Section A, Parcel 57. The affected property is zoned A-2, Agricultural. The applicant requests the dwelling density regulation be varied to allow for the placement of a second dwelling on the property. The affected property has a physical address of 282 John Randolph Road, Farmville VA 23901 and is located northeast of the intersection of Woodland Drive (Route 725) and John Randolph Road (Route 725) in election district 4.
BZA 12-03: County of Cumberland requests a variance from the requirements of Section 74-265 of the Cumberland County Zoning Ordinance regarding building setback from the road centerline with respect to approximately 8 acres of Tax Map 57, Section A, Parcel 59. The applicant requests the setback required for structures be varied from one hundred and thirty (130) feet to forty (40) feet to allow for the placement of a storage trailer. The affected property is zoned R-2, Rural Residential. The affected property known as the “ball field” has a physical address of 6 Old Buckingham Road, Cumberland VA 23040 and is located southwest of the intersection of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Old Buckingham Road (Route 13) in election district 3.
Copies of the above requests are available for review at the Cumberland County Planning Department between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm M-F. The public is invited to attend these hearings at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
