Support American Legion Post 134

Editor, The Herald:
The American Legion has over 15,000 posts located throughout America and was founded in 1919. In order to become a member of a post in America you must be a veteran. Recruiting membership is always open. Those veterans yet to become a member, we can certainly use your membership. Most Posts have more seniors than younger members. We want all Veterans to become a member at a post within your location.
The legion supports Veterans affairs, Boys State, the Boy and Girl Scouts, and other organizations and events.
As commander at Post-134 in Dillwyn, I offer a heartfelt thanks for those who supported our fundraiser in 2012. We are asking businesses for their support as well. We ask that you make out your check or money order to American Legion Post-134 and mail it to BB&T, 15604 North James Madison Highway, Dillywn, Virginia 23936.
We need younger members to support the responsibility of a post, like our senior members have served 20-30-40 years in the legion. All posts welcome young members male or female.
For God and Country.
Never forget our veterans, MIA and POWs.
P.S. Yearly dues are $30 from June to June. Any questions, call 434-933-8081.
