Aug. 2 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Gary Albert, of Arvonia, celebrating on Saturday, Aug. 4, and Violet Flippen, of New Canton, celebrating on Monday, Aug. 6.
Our sympathy is extended to the Lucas family of Cumberland. Rev. Dargan Bolton Lucas, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24. A funeral service was held July 23. He will be greatly missed as he served pulpits across the area preaching the gospel, sharing Jesus. He was loved by all as a true servant of God.
Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.
Thought for the day: We lose the joy of living in the present when we worry about the future.
