Waverly Garner, an 18-year-old home school graduate, Americorps Volunteer and a High Bridge Trail Volunteer, presented a civil war treasure chest to the children in the Farmville/Prince Edward Community Library Summer Reading Program. Waverly talked about the American Civil War and showed items that the soldiers would have used. Students held canteens, hats and various items soldiers would need on the go during that time period. Pictured attending the program were Wellsley Waller, Jameel Jones, Corin Beiler, Matthew Moneymaker, Carter Austin Swanberg, Kylen Beiler, Blyth Shippey, Waverly Garner, Slone Shippey, and Abigail Swanberg.
