Dr. Elisa Kucia, neurosurgeon with The Neurosurgery Center, Centra Medical Group, is now seeing patients at the Centra Orthopedic and Rehab Center, located in Centra Southside Community Hospital.

Dr. Kucia provides a full range of neurosurgery services, such as brain tumors, herniated disks and pinched nerves, spinal stenosis and compression, carpal and ulnar nerve entrapment, adult hydrocephalus, aneurysms and arteriovenous malformation, and minimally invasive brain and spine surgery.

Dr. Kucia earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School. She completed her neurosurgical residency at Barrow Neurological Institute and her neurosurgical fellowship at the University of Colorado.

This practice will take the place of Dr. George Hurt's Farmville-based neurosurgery practice. Dr. Hurt will continue to provide neurosurgical care out of his Lynchburg office, Central Virginia Neurosurgery.
